Medical Review Policy

How ClearMed Journal distinguishes medical review from writing, editing and profile publication.

Medical review is a distinct editorial role. A person should be identified as a medical reviewer only when that role applies to the specific website, page or content relationship being described.

Medical reviewer attribution

An expert profile may contain a Medically Reviewed For section listing websites where that professional is identified as carrying out medical or clinical review. A writing relationship is not automatically treated as medical review.

Scope of medical review

Medical review can involve checking medical terminology, clinical context, treatment descriptions, safety information, contraindications, medicine classifications and the appropriateness of supporting references. The exact scope can differ by publisher and by content type.

No blanket endorsement

Listing a review relationship does not mean the reviewer personally approves every page, product, service or statement on the linked website. The relationship should be interpreted only within the role and content for which the person is identified.

Updates

If a review relationship changes, the profile can be updated from our editorial system. Requests for correction can be sent to admin@clearmedjournal.com.
